My son and I stayed at the Westin Indianapolis October 17-21 for the DoItBest Market. Prior to arrival I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor. We were on a business trip so I was trying to keep expenses down. Therefore, I called several days before we left for Indy to discuss the amount of fees the hotel charges for internet use. I was so pleased to find out that if I would sign up for their rewards program I would recieve complimentary internet for the duration of our stay. Thanks to Phillip this indeed was the case! Checkin was very smooth. We arrived early and had no idea we would be able to check into our room. We were thrilled to find out they had our room ready and in we went. Some of what I read on Trip Advisor was accurate information. The rooms are a bit dated. However, by no means does that mean not clean nor comfortable. One of the first things you see upon entering the lobby are displays showing examples of the upcoming room renovations. I look forward to being able to take advantage of the look next year when we attend the DoItBest Market. The staff was GREAT! Specific shout outs to Phillip and Anthony for being great assets to the Westin family. You guys really made us feel like our business was appreciated even though we were not football players (The Colts stayed there for the game) or repeat VIP clients. In closing, we will stay at the Westin next year and I am looking forward to it. By the time we left we felt at home.
This is a great location connected to many things by skywalk. However, there are other hotels next door with the same set up. Our family has stayed her every year for a convention for 10 years or so. The halls and rooms are dirty and stained. The heavenly beds have turned to flat hard mattresses. One morning did not get our wake up call. There are no outlets anywhere near the night stands. So unless they redo everything to include the electrical we won't be back. To other outlets did not work as well. This includes the only one in the bathroom. They did fix it, but with an ill fitting patch job.
We stayed at this hotel October 19-21. We absolutely love visiting Indianapolis as it is one of our favorite cities. We were in town for the Colts vs. Broncos game and decided to give the Westin a try. The hotel is extremely conveniently located within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and Lucas oil. The convention center and Skywalk are very convenient and make for a great means of easy transportation without having to actually go down and walk on the street. Before I review the hotel let me preface by saying I have stayed at the Westin in Atlanta and it is literally a top notch five star hotel... so I was expecting the same from this Westin (Indy) which may contribute somewhat to my slight disappointment. The Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable and made for a great nights rest. Very conveniently located. Extremely friendly service at the front desk, everyone was very accommodating! There is a Starbucks near the lobby which was great! The Cons: The hotel was very clean however, there was trash left in our trashcans from the previous guests (not a big deal) everything else was very clean. The bathroom is small but the shower is very nice. You have to pay $28/day to park so when we left we had an additional cost of $56 for parking (which is ok considering we didn't have to pay to park at the stadium/fight for parking downtown etc.). Another downside to me was the fact that there was no refrigerator in our room; we had to call and request a fridge that was brought in on a rolley cart and sat on the floor. Overall this hotel is a great place to stay if your just in town for a couple days. Great staff, great location, could use some updating, and could use some better guest room accommodations! Would probably stay here again!
We were in town for a weekend and had a great stay at the Westin Indy. The rooms were as comfortable as expected and the staff friendly and helpful. The downtown location is the best. It is mere blocks away (easy walking distance) to restaurants, shopping, and Lucas Oil. We were in town for the Colts/Broncos a great location!
Friendly hotel staff, exemplary services, and the location made my trip bit pleasant. I asked for a quiet room and slide modification to my reservation; It was done without any hesitation. It appeared, the management and their staff are doing an excellent job to meet customers satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this hotel whether you are travelling for business or pleasure.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. There was a line when I checked in and the front desk staff worked quickly. I got room service and my salad was delicious. My only complaint is that my shower water was a but too hot. Otherwise, everything was terrific!
We arrived at the hotel to find out they didn't have rooms ready for us, then they told us our boys ( who are all teenagers) would be on a different floor to my husband and I. They boys room was a corner suite with a great view of city hall but was stinking of smoke. I could smell it as soon as we opened the door. There was no roll out bed either. The phones in the room weren't working so had to go back down to reception. We were told they had a Rapper stay in that room a few days before who had smoked in it. They said they had tried to clean it as best they could. The sofa in the room was dirty as well. They were no other rooms available to move the boys to. My husband and I were eventually moved to a room on the same floor as them but the bathroom was dirty. We had to ask them to send up an extra bed and to make up the sofa bed for the boys. The fact that they didn't think of doing this and we had to ask astounded me. We went across the road to the Hyatt and booked in there for the remaining of our stay. I would not recommend the Westin, was so disappointed in it and the attitude of the staff.
Everything was clean and very comfortable, easy access to the convention center and downtown restaurants, and the fitness room was huge. When I came in from a morning job, they even greeted me with a bottle of water and a towel.
